Fundraising for a new fish tank
Thank you to all parents, families and friends who raised money for a new fish tank for the Toddler Room.
The children have been busy practising their fishy song and here it is…
Black History Month
The children’s centre had a feast to celebrate black history month! Gail and Folami prepared lots of Caribbean dishes to share with the children and their parents. We have been making yummy dishes all through October including banana fritters, Jamaican patties, fish cakes, coconut bread and coconut drops allowing children to taste the diverse flavours and spices from Caribbean culture. Recipes are available from the Children’s centre foyer.
Discover Story Trail
Children from the Baby and Toddler room went to Discover to take part in a gingerbread man story trail. We had a great time singing songs, listening to stories and exploring the wonderful interactive resources.
Discover is based in Stratford, a short trip from Caledonian Road and Barnsbury Overground station.

Handa’s surprise trip
Children from the Baby room went to see “Handa’s surprise”. They were transported to Kenya where Handa takes seven delicious fruits to her friend Akeyo. They had a wonderful time and if you would like to share the story at home we have several copies available to borrow. The Little Angel Theatre is a fabulous local resource and provide a number of “baby friendly” performances. They also offer “relaxed performances” that are particularly suitable for children who benefit from a more relaxed environment, including children with sensory or communication needs, ASD or a learning disability.
