Education in our Environment

Our school is our classroom, and our city is our school.

At Robert Blair School, we foster excellence and a love of learning.  STEAM education (Science, Technology, Environment, Arts and Mathematics) and enriched cultural experiences are central to our curriculum and its content. We provide a range of exciting, enriching and relevant learning experiences outside the classroom while e-learning facilitates and enriches our learning. Pupils engage in meaningful education programmes, capitalising on partnerships with local enterprises, schools and community organisations to enhance career related learning experiences.  With the Kings Cross Cultural District and Knowledge Quarter on our doorstep, we play an active part in this vibrant community. Currently, our pupils are excited to be collaborating with professionals and artists from ZooNation and University of the Arts, London.

Taking the opportunities available beyond our classroom is part of the culture and expectation of Robert Blair School.  At least once daily, lessons are held outside the classroom.  Within our grounds, we have a significant amount of outdoor and additional space, including a wild nature area and a roof terrace with stunning views of London’s cityscape.  Our STEAM lab is equipped for practical, creative experiences and learning through enquiry.

Robert Blair School recognises the importance of school trips and we ensure that all children are given the opportunity, at least once every half term, to attend a visit off-site linking to the class topic or an area of the curriculum. London has some of the best cultural sights in the world and we make the most of our central location and excellent transport links.
